Privacy Policy
SwipeLog helps people discover, track, and share films. This policy explains what information is processed and the controls available to you.
Information you provide
- Email address and authentication credentials managed by Firebase Authentication.
- Optional profile details such as name, username, bio, avatar, favorite genres, and favorite films.
- Movie activity such as ratings, diary entries, watch dates, notes, watchlists, custom lists, tier lists, votes, and shared-watchlist contributions.
- Letterboxd ZIP or CSV files selected for import. Import files are processed for the requested import and are not intentionally retained as uploaded source files.
Automatically processed information
SwipeLog may collect coarse feature interactions, app version, locale, and device or installation identifiers through Firebase Analytics. Analytics events are designed not to contain raw email addresses, usernames, biographies, search queries, notes, list names, profile links, or friend identifiers.
How information is used
- Authenticate accounts and synchronize app data.
- Provide discovery, diary, profile, friendship, and shared-watchlist features.
- Send optional local release reminders requested by the user.
- Maintain security, diagnose failures, and improve product performance.
Service providers and movie data
SwipeLog uses Google Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, and analytics; Expo/EAS for application build and delivery infrastructure; and TMDB for movie metadata, images, ratings, recommendations, and watch-provider lookup. Streaming availability data is sourced from JustWatch through TMDB. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Sharing and public features
If you choose social features, profile information and selected movie activity may be visible to other users. Shared-watchlist membership, suggestions, votes, and watched state are shared with the members of that list.
Retention and deletion
Account data is retained while the account is active and as needed to provide the service. You may permanently delete your account and associated app data inside SwipeLog. You may also submit a request through the public account deletion page. Provider backups and security records may expire on their standard schedules where immediate deletion is not technically possible or where retention is legally required.
Security and children
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. No system is completely secure. SwipeLog is not directed to children under 13, and users must meet the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country.
